Recently unearthed from the archives, this complete Tales of Young Robert set was filmed on a Beta-Max video camera by Andy Emparan, who, twenty years later, burned the audio onto a CD for me. Tales of Young Robert was in its early stages, and opening for Ruth & The Hypocrites at The Wild Blue. The date is unknown, although I'm guessing it must be 1987, as I am still singing most of the lead vocals (Mark Ribera would soon assume the role of lead vocalist; here, he only plays saxophone). If you listen to the tracks in sequence, you can almost pretend you were there; in fact, I'm certain that some of you were. | |||

"What Goes Around Comes Around" is the only "album-on-cassette" Tales of Young Robert ever recorded (in spring & summer 1989, at the now-defunct On Broadway Studios). Well, some years ago I found fifteen copies of the tape still in their shrink-wrap at a yard sale. I've now mastered the cassette to CD, with all ten songs intact. If you have eclectic tastes, you may want to try this classic Fresno "cassette-on-CD"! |
